Today’s fun game:

watching the people walk by outside

deciding if they’re in costume for halloween
or
if they usually dress like that.

[I'm sure I've inflicted this story on almost everyone now, but, just in case, presented for your amusement:]

A few Friday nights ago, when Martyn arrived, we were strolling over to a friends house for dinner.
This involved a short leg along Main Road.
A taxi pulled up a few meters in front of us and the money-man screams in his best cape flats accent “wainbuuuh!”
We continue strolling and I translated and explained that he actually said was “Wynberg.”
Another taxi* pulls up and lets a guy out, the money-man says:
“I know how to speak English properly:
[queen's english voice]
Wynberg!
[/queen's english voice]”

!
We LOLed.

* - not the same one. Honestly. It can’t have been. I swear I only started explaining after it drove off.

Back at work (sort of) after an absolutely cracking two week holiday, entertaining martyn, showing him the sites* of Cape Town.

Some new cool things that emerged:

• answering questions with “yes and no”
• ‘you must be able to read this sign to read this sign’
• [any quote from shrek]
• short instructional videos

The daily pattern was food&drink, do stuff for an hour or two, food&drink, relax, food&drink.
Fantastic.
I feel very relaxed…

You see, today is a Friday.
Tomorrow will be a Sunday.
And then Saturday will be a Saturday. Or possible another Friday.
Then, the week after is a month of Sundays, as is the week after that, except for Thursday which will either be a Friday or a Saturday.
Then Saturday will be a Saturday and days of the week resume their normal order.
